Thresholds that survive a noisy week
Most inventory boards scream during festive weeks because thresholds were set on a calm month. The fix is not “wider bands forever.” It is knowing which SKUs earn seasonal envelopes and which must stay tight.
Separate shock from drift
Shock is a one-week leap with a known calendar cause. Drift is a directional crawl across three or more cycles. Your Data Visualization and Analytics Platform for Inventory Signal Analysis should label them differently — color alone is not enough.
Borrow sample weeks, not slogans
Pull four noisy weeks and four quiet weeks. Plot false-positive rates for your current bands. If festive weeks flood the exception list, introduce a temporary envelope with an end date rather than permanently loosening the rule.
Owner before color
